The Coral Springs Museum of Art Moves to Cornerstone, and the Block Now Has a Full Evening

The addresses on the west side of University Drive just south of Sample Road run from 3240 to 3380. Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar opened at the low end of that range in August 2024 as Cornerstone's first restaurant. For about a year and a half, it was largely alone. Then 2026 filled the stretch in. Mitch's Downtown opened in March, How Ya Dough'n in April, Gary Rack's Farmhouse Kitchen in June, and Maha Juice Bar and Paris Baguette in August. Let's Chill Homemade Ice Cream moved in by mid-September.

On Friday, Oct. 9, the Coral Springs Museum of Art opens its new Downtown Gallery at 3380 N. University Drive, at the north end of the same ground floor. A gallery that stays open into the evening now shares a parking lot with a full row of places to eat. On five days of the week, that turns a set of restaurants into a block where you can plan a whole evening.

What Actually Moved, and What Stayed Put

The gallery used to be at 2855 Coral Springs Drive, inside the Coral Springs Center for the Arts building. Exhibitions are the only part of the museum that's moving. Art classes and other creative programs stay at the CSMoA Creative Studios on the second floor of the Center for the Arts. If your child takes a Saturday class there, your drop-off route doesn't change.

Admission isn't changing either. The museum's own history ties free admission to expanded access after the Coral Springs City Commission took over as its board in 2019. The City's relocation FAQ says admission stays free at the new location. The only ticketed event is the opening-night celebration.

The room itself is what's new. The downtown gallery has more than 5,000 square feet of exhibition space, a street-facing design and movable walls for rotating shows. It also has a retail store, a coffee station and a Creative Studio. The museum has served the city for nearly 30 years. Commissioner Joshua Simmons, who chairs its board, said exhibitions like this one "will give residents and visitors from around the world even more reason to experience Downtown Coral Springs," according to Coral Springs Talk.

The Hours Overlap With Dinner

Gallery hours are the reason this block works as an evening. The gallery is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. It's closed Sunday and open Monday by appointment only. On a Friday, the gallery doesn't close until 8, and Gary Rack's serves until 10.

Here's how the block's verified hours line up.

Business Address Hours
Coral Springs Museum of Art Downtown Gallery 3380 N. University Dr. Tue–Thu 11 a.m.–7 p.m.; Fri–Sat noon–8 p.m.; Sun closed
Paris Baguette 3326 N. University Dr. Daily 6 a.m.–9 p.m.
Gary Rack's Farmhouse Kitchen 3314 N. University Dr. Mon–Wed 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Thu–Fri 11 a.m.–10 p.m.; Sat 10 a.m.–10 p.m.; Sun 10 a.m.–9 p.m.
How Ya Dough'n 3260 N. University Dr. Mon–Sat 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sun noon–8 p.m.
Maha Juice Bar 3256 N. University Dr. Mon–Sat 8 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sun closed
Mitch's Downtown 3334 N. University Dr. Mon–Fri 7 a.m.–2 p.m.; Sat–Sun 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

Let's Chill and Tacocraft are both open, but neither has published current hours in the local sources, so check with them directly before you go. Let's Chill served its last customers at its old location on Aug. 30 and had reopened at 3342 University Drive by Sept. 14. Its small-batch ice cream uses local dairy and natural colors.

The table shows one gap. The gallery and Maha both close on Sundays, so on Sunday the block is food only. Mitch's is a morning-and-lunch deli and closes before the gallery's late hours begin. Pair it with a weekday gallery visit at the 11 a.m. opening, not with an evening.

Picasso Comes First

The opening show sets a high bar for the new room. "Picasso: A Graphic Journey" includes 57 original prints Picasso made between 1923 and 1972. They're etchings, lithographs and linocuts, plus one rare canceled copper printing plate. The prints come from the collection of Timothy Collins of Los Angeles, and curator Eric Mourlot wrote the accompanying essay. The show includes several proofs of Tête de Femme au Chapeau, which follow one image from early color studies to the final composition. Janet Gold's "Cages and Collage" runs alongside it through Dec. 31.

The dates to put on the calendar:

  1. Friday, Oct. 9, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Opening celebration. Tickets are $10 and free for members. They're sold in one-hour slots, and each includes one complimentary drink. Expect music in the gallery, a cash bar and limited-edition merchandise. Capacity is capped at 140 guests at a time, so buy online ahead of time.
  2. Saturday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free open day, with free event parking.
  3. Saturday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m. to noon. The lecture "Picasso's Prints: The Modernists Medium." It's free, and you don't need to register.
  4. Saturday, Dec. 5, noon to 2 p.m. "Gelli Printmaking with Kaili Woop." It costs $45 for members and $50 for nonmembers, and it falls on the last day of the Picasso show.

The Oct. 24 lecture ends at noon, an hour before Mitch's stops serving on weekends. That makes it the easiest pairing on the list.

Parking Covers the Whole Block

For regular visits, the museum points you to the ground-level Modera lot, which you enter from Sample Road. Get your ticket validated at the museum's front desk and parking is free. The City Hall Parking Garage nearby is also free. Everything on the block sits on the same ground floor, so you can park once and walk the whole stretch.

If you're also going to the City's Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 3, it runs 4 to 10 p.m. on the City Hall Lawn at 9500 W. Sample Road, a short drive from Cornerstone. The gallery won't be open yet that weekend.

Building the Evening Around Gallery Hours

Once you know the closing times, the visits mostly plan themselves.

  • Friday after work. The gallery is open until 8 p.m. Dinner at Gary Rack's can follow, since its locations page lists Friday service until 10. The menu runs from tomato risotto and roasted salmon to the chef's Food Network burger.
  • Saturday morning into afternoon. Gary Rack's opens at 10 for brunch, and the gallery opens at noon. Paris Baguette, open daily from 6 a.m., has pastries, cakes and coffee for the walk back to the car.
  • Weeknight with kids. Go to the gallery before 7 p.m. Then How Ya Dough'n has long-fermented sourdough pizza, wings and dough bites until 9. Maha Juice Bar has açai bowls and smoothies until 8 if someone in the group wants something lighter.
  • Weekday lunch. The gallery opens at 11 a.m. Mitch's Downtown serves bagels, deli sandwiches, corned beef and matzah-ball soup until 2 p.m.

What's Still Coming to the Block

Four more tenants are still on the way. None was confirmed open as of Sept. 30.

Copenhagen Corner Wine Bar & Brasserie still lists itself as under construction. Its website gives conflicting opening seasons, and its menu draws on Danish and French brasserie cooking.

Big Whiskey's American Restaurant and Bar is listed by the City as "Coming Fall 2026." It plans to serve ribs, steaks and seafood with more than 120 whiskeys.

Hausmash was confirmed for Cornerstone in mid-September. It's a retro diner serving smashed burgers, fries and milkshakes, and it has no opening date yet.

TREMBLE Pilates has a space at 3354 N. University Drive, Suite 3, for reformer workouts. Its April announcement expected a mid-2026 opening.

The City's Cornerstone tenant page still lists some businesses that have already opened as "coming." Local news reports are the better guide to who's actually serving.
